The ABBUC Summer Camp 2026 was held in Winterberg (Schützenhalle Elkeringhausen, Zur Kaiserwiese 10, 59955 Winterberg-Elkeringhausen) from 2026-08-26 to 2026-08-30. It was the substitute for the original Fujiama 2026 party, which could not be held in Lengenfeld due to a building issue. Just four hours of driving one way instead of 8 to 9 hours was nice.
It was a little different from Fujiama, but again we've all had a great time. We jointly worked on the Schleife 88 tape speeder (so hard that insane had to change the router password after all), the AtariWiki, volksFORTH, and DIS6502. Of course, using AI was also a topic. Prodadron showed me how he uses Claude code to create documentation for his kernel and drivers, and how, based on the resulting documentation, Claude was even able to find and fix issues in the Z80 driver code. This was an impressive result. SKR and Alex created really nice games in just 48 hours, based (more or less) on Dr. Irata's specification. SKR's entry was the closed match for the specification and really fun during the presentation. Alex's game "Castles" gave us hours of fun with four people. We reached level 10 before we were all too tired to go on. We also had 6 people participating in a two-day 6502 assembly course using WUDSN.
